Psalms 28: “To You I will cry, O Lord my Rock” (NKJV): I have repeated this in many different forms over the course of my Christian life. People let us down, life changes in ways we don’t want, but God never changes. He is our Rock, and we can trust that when we cry out to Him, he hears us. This entire psalm is a relatable snapshot of life in the world, and how we can always trust the Lord to hear our prayers.
Psalms 29: Give the Lord all of our praise. He is strong and mighty. He deserves our praise and thanksgiving.
Psalms 30: This is one of my favorite Psalms. I have read this almost every month on the 30th day of the month, and it is always timely. David’s words are my words:
Psalms 31: This is such a raw, realistic expression of what it’s like to feel like a failure, like you’re all alone, like there’s no way you’re going to make it through. He feels like everyone hates him—his enemies AND his friends (this is something I go through regularly—ugh. It’s just lies from Satan but I go through times of believing this lie!). He’s lonely—I get it. I have lived it. He’s afraid—same. Look, this doesn’t cast me in the best light to say this but this is me being real with all of you. Life is so, so hard sometimes, isn’t it?
But it never lasts. Because David cried out to God, I cry out to God, you cry out to God. Our lives are in His hands, and there is truly no better place to be. He is so good, and He is so great. Let’s remember this when we go through those necessary times of pain, because it is in those painful times that we grow so much, and that we see God caring for us. I am so thankful for those times of pain because I have gotten to see God’s power and miracles.
Psalms 32: In this psalm, David confesses his sins, and God answers with such love and grace and mercy. Again, He shows Himself in these low times. It’s so important to name our sins and go to Him with humility. His forgiveness is so much bigger than our minds can comprehend.
Psalms 33: This is a song so rich in its praise! He knows everything and made everything and is in control of everything! Our hope is in Him.
This week, as we go through this busy season, take time to praise God for all He has done for us. Never get to a point where you’re so used to God taking care of you that you forget to thank Him. He will always take care of us.
Blessing to you,
