Dear Friends,
I can’t believe it’s time to reflect on another year at SoGF! Looking back, it seems that we packed so much into 2025.
Thank you to everyone who invited friends and family to our church this year. We welcomed more visitors than ever before, and we hope they heard about the saving power of a relationship with Jesus and how His grace covers everything. As I say every week, we’re a grace-filled church, and all sinners are welcome—you, me, and everyone else! We’ve enjoyed having some of our church members teaching regularly on Sunday, and we were blessed in a special way by two series in particular: our series on the Holy Spirit and our series on Worship. You can really see God moving in our church!
Let’s talk about leadership. I’ve served in a part-time capacity as our senior pastor, but this year, I transitioned to a full-time pastor, letting me devote more of my time to this amazing church. Also, Daniel Riojas joined our deacons this year. In addition, we brought on Lacy Blonn, and I think it’s safe to say we all love the videos she’s made this year, as well as her worship gifts. Courtney Guzman took over as Director of Children’s Ministries, and she added worship time to our Sunday School program. Thank you to all our volunteers who spoke, acted, and taught kids who helped make Lacy’s and Courtney’s new positions so much easier!
Now, let’s talk about events. Our Community Dinner was outstanding! About 125 people ate together, talked together, and laughed together! We also had some incredible Marriage & Family events, including marriage and family counseling, classes, and our Marriage Panel. And what about our SAGE ministry for the older adults in our church? What a blessing that has been!
And speaking of connection, we are expanding in who we are as a community. Our Connect Groups are growing! We’ve had more people interested in joining these small groups, and we’ve added more leaders. Please, if you are not a part of a Connect Group—sign up! You are missing out on the opportunity to form deeper connections with those around you as you grow closer to God.
People have connected even more through our men’s and women’s groups. I can personally attest that our Saturday Men’s Group, 40 Brave Soldiers for Christ, has impacted my life in such a personal way, and I have watched other men’s lives change as well. Our women also got in on the connections—they had two events that were well-attended and absolutely beautiful. Please prayerfully consider getting more involved in these opportunities—you won’t be sorry!
Another evidence of our growth as a church and in community was our very first baptism inside our church—and it was huge! We saw 22 people get baptized, and the whole church was able to stay to witness this. We’ve also completed our second year reading through the Bible together. Maybe you can join us for our third year!
We can’t talk about community and growth without talking about our renewed commitment to Calvary Academy. We hosted a breakfast for parents on the first day of school and welcomed many parents, getting to know their families. Charles and Courtney have both invested their time with Calvary kids. In November, we had a packed house for our combined worship night with Calvary Academy—it was incredible, and we can’t wait to keep our friendship going!
Are you looking to make a difference in this community? If so, please prayerfully think about investing in Spirit of God Fellowship. Thank you all for the time you’ve given serving, and thank you for your generosity in giving financially. We are so close to getting rid of our debt. As of this writing, we only have $400,000 left to raise. Can you help make that number smaller? Click this link for more info on giving. We’ve made giving in person easier with our new Giving Wall in the back of the church—stop over there and see how you can Connect or Give!

As always, thank you for trusting me to be your senior pastor. It’s a calling I don’t take lightly, and one I am grateful for each day. I am so thankful for each of you, and I wish you abundant blessings in 2026!
With Gratitude,
Brian Kamstra
Senior Pastor
