Reflections: Joshua 20-24 & Psalm 90
I have summarized the end of the book of Joshua. Some of the best verses to me were:
"The Lord gave them rest on EVERY side."
"Not one of all the Lord's good promises to Israel failed; EVERYONE was fulfilled."
"It was the Lord your God who fought for you."
"Every promise has been FULFILLED; not one has failed."
"You saw with your own eyes."
"I GAVE you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build"
"He protected us on our ENTIRE journey."
These verses stood out because if God did this for them, He will certainly do it for us! This is deep!
Joshua was a great book to read for such a time as this!
Now we are switching gears from the book of Joshua to Psalms. We are starting with Psalm 90 because this is where we left off earlier in our bible reading.
We find ourselves reading a prayer of Moses, which is so timely. We just read about Moses and Joshua and now we see Moses praying this beautiful prayer. He acknowledges that God is everlasting and does not change, while we are very temporal and we are affected by our sin and consequences. He asks God to give us a heart of wisdom so that we can make the most of our days and understand His love and be satisfied in Him! He ends it with - may the favor of the Lord our God rest on us. I pray the same for all of you at SOGF! May the favor of the Lord rest on you and on our church.
